Jestering; Part:3

Still caught up in the emotions of the incident she declared to everyone that it was the end, she was filing ”papers.”  She created a plan to spring the news- make him think everything would be okay and on his birthday serve him a blow thats she hoped would hurt more than anytime she fought him.  Close friends and family all knew of the plan and encouraged it, except a few who wanted to move past all the waiting and the bullshit like the goddess of Victory and just do it.

It would be almost a months wait for this day. In between time she took steps to secretly “mend” the relationship, but his new found freedom was too much. He publicly treated her like he did his babies mother’s. She’d become closely acquainted with the tears that streamed down her cheeks, so much that she could not hide it from those around her.

She was a sucker. She often preached to her younger cousins and her single friends about what a Man is supposed to be and what not to deal with. Yet, here she was the person she always claimed never to be, doing the things she claimed she would never do- a joke.

Everyone waited… anticipated… the birthday. They showed up together time and time again.

Haden’t his birthday passed?

It had.

She was still there acting as if the incident that shook the neighboorhood that morning had never happened; Like she could ball a complete fist with her pinky reaching her palm; like he was a good man. It started out on the right side of crazy, but love for a fool is sure to cause history to repeat itself. This was  not the first incident nor would it be the last. When confronted she said all the right cliche’s, sayings, and proverbs but she just couldnt take the steps to leave.
